Cookbook Corner – In the Kitchen

Happy Sunday! Congratulations to Lisa Craven for winning my GIVEAWAY yesterday! Stay tuned for more giveaways in the future – and thanks to all who entered! How exciting…

AND I’m so excited about this! A NEW “Cookbook Corner”… And yes – these are usually reserved for Wednesdays, but today I’m a part of a “blog tour” with Cedar Fort and it’s all about this amazing cookbook… Here we go!

In the Kitchen Blaise the Baker Cookbook Corner

“In the Kitchen” By: Allison Waggoner

This book (as the cover title page suggests) is a “collection of home and family memories”. I really fell in love with this book for a variety of reasons. First off – it really IS a collection of home and family memories from author Allison Waggoner. I really appreciate a cookbook that not only shares delicious recipes and gorgeous photographs – but family stories and “behind the scenes” information about a recipe. I’ve always been interested in where a recipe was developed, why and how. I find the stories BEHIND the recipe, to go really hand in hand with the recipe itself. This book really delivers with the recipes, photographs AND stories.

There are SO MANY recipes I’ve marked to try including…

“Inside-Out Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins” (page 6) These remind me of a pumpkin mini muffin with cream cheese frosting that my Aunt makes me every year for Thanksgiving – so delicious!

“Blueberry Cream Cheese-Stuffed French Toast” (page 18) Who wouldn’t LOVE STUFFED french toast!?

“Strawberry and Almond Scones” (page 24) I am a huge fan of scones – they are so delicious, especially with a frosting – or a drizzle of frosting on top of each one.

“Chocolate Cashew Butter” (page 35) 3 ingredients – so simple – and so delicious!

“Ricotta Stuffed Meatballs” (page 53) Amazing and wonderful when served with warm and crusty garlic bread.

“Mac and Cheese” (page 70) Mac and cheese – what’s not to love? And breadcrumbs on top for a delicious crunch? Sign me up! Yes…

“Fallen Chocolate Cake” (page 97) Reminds me of a “flourless chocolate cake” – and so decadent and amazing.

“Salted Caramel Hand Pies” (page 99) I LOVE salted caramel anything – my “flavor of the moment”.

“Raspberry Lemonade Slices” (page 109) I love the combination of lemon and raspberry…

These are just SOME of the recipes that fill up this amazing book!

I highly recommend checking this book out and adding it to your collection!
